Mary Ann Oakley has extensive expertise in the field of education, particularly in pastoral care and wellbeing. With over 30 years of experience, she has had a significant focus on counselling students in various roles such as Head of Senior School, Head of Senior Studies, and Pastoral Leader. Throughout her career, she has focused on supporting young adults dealing with a range of issues unique to this age group.
Her involvement with the Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority has provided Mary Ann with a deep understanding of the VCE system including 'special exam arrangements'; and the 'special entry access scheme' (SEAS). Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education, along with Post Graduate qualifications in Teaching and Counselling. She is a member of both the Australian Counselling Association and the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
